- 1 tablespoon Extra virgin olive oil
- Halloumi or Cheese sliced180 gram
- Red Birdseye Chilies
- Lettuce leaves 80 gram
- 2 tablespoons Lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon Finely grated lemon rind
- 2 teaspoons Drained baby capers
Heat 2 teaspoons of oil in a medium-sized frying pan on medium-high heat. Cook the Halloumi slices or cheese slices in batches for about 2 minutes on each side until they turn golden. Then, transfer it to a plate.
Heat the rest of the oil in the same pan. Put in the chili and capers. Stir and cook for 3 to 5 minutes until the capers warm up, and the chili turns golden.
Then, add the lemon rind and cook for another minute. Stir continuously. Finally, add the lemon juice and let it simmer.
Place the halloumi and lettuce on a serving plate. Pour the hot lemon mixture over them. Sprinkle with pepper. Serve right away.
